Arcadia homeowners interested in improving their property may be eligible for federal grant funding to pay for certain improvements such as, plumbing, electrical, energy-efficient doors and windows, roofing, painting, termite inspection and repair, accessibility additions and more. To qualify, applicants must own the home, meet household income limits, and must reside in the home for three years after the improvements have been completed. Properties must be zoned “single-family.” The income limits for the Program are as follows: Number of persons Maximum combined in the household income per household 1 $44,400 2 $50,750 3 $57,100 4 $63,450 5 $68,550 6 $73,600 The Arcadia Home Improvement Program is funded through the Community Development Block Grant Fund and the Community Development Block Grant Recovery Fund, which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the purpose of which is to stimulate the economy through measures that modernize infrastructure, improve energy efficiency and provide employment.
