En Plein Air: Vues et Vistas d’Arcadie
January 30 – March 27
Opening Reception: January 30, 11am
Visit the Museum for this new and refreshing exhibit featuring local artistic talents in the genre of Plein Air. The artwork for this exhibit was done by “The Thursday Morning Plein Air Group,” headed by past exhibitor at the Museum: Walter McNall. En plein air is an expression which means “in the open air,” and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors. This form of painting began in the mid-nineteenth century in the village of Barbizon near Fontainebleau Forest, France, where artists would gather. Come inside this winter and experience the views and vistas of Arcadia.
